Electric trucks with Avia chassis are broadening green transportation in USA7/30/09 9:46 AM

Washington DC/Prague – Electric trucks of the American company Smith Electric Vehicles with cabs and chassis of the Czech brand AVIA, representing the breakthrough in the world green transportation, were introduced to America.

PragueStarting this January, Letnany-based truck manufacturer AVIA ASHOK LEYLAND MOTORS (AALM) has been offering an extended warranty of three years for its AVIA trucks, helping its customers face the tough business environment.

“At one level, this action speaks of our confidence in our product quality.  The decision is based on sustained quality improvements (both internally and with suppliers). AVIA trucks are known specially for their durable engines with a long life of over one million kilometers and the special corrosion-resistant paint technology. Customers also benefit from minimum and inexpensive maintenance”, says Mr. Marcus Pauels, Chief Operating Officer, AALM. “Especially in these difficult times, the extended warranty is a meaningful value addition for our customers, helping their operational viability. For our customers, mainly logistics companies and entrepreneurs, it also underlines the high quality and reliability of the trucks”, says Tomas Jiricka, Chief Financial Officer.

Every year, AALM invest millions of crowns into the development of new vehicles and in internal quality management, to meet strict quality mandates and EU standards. Last year, the Letnany-based truck manufacturer registered a 25% growth in sales volume compared to 2007 and joined the group of the largest domestic producers and exporters of trucks.
